Adam Bakhtiar is a CNBC correspondent providing live, up-to-the-minute reporting on breaking business and financial stories. Based in CNBC’s Asia Pacific Headquarters in Singapore, he presents market reports into CNBC Asia Pacific’s signature program "Squawk Box" and "CNBC’s Cash Flow."
Bakhtiar has had more than 10 years experience in the business and financial industry. Prior to joining CNBC, he worked as a stockbroker for 13 years with CIMB Investment Bank, where he set up a team of brokers to service high-net-worth individuals with their investment portfolios on the Malaysian market.
Before that, Bakhtiar was the Managing Director for Articulate Interactive Sdn. Bhd where he was responsible for starting up the interactive television company and spearheading business developments with all the Malaysian television networks.
Bakhtiar also ran a private equity deal in 2004-2005, raising AUD$20 million in seed capital for Columbus Capital Pte Ltd, a start-up warehouse funding company in the Australian residential mortgage market.
Bakhtiar has a B.A. in business majoring in accounting from Deakin University.
