Adam Bakhtiar is a CNBC anchor and correspondent based in Singapore. He is the host of CNBC's pre-market program The Rundown, a show that is the essential guide to begin your day. The Rundown catches you up on the overnight buzz from Wall Street and arms you with everything you need to know for the Asia trading day. Bakhtiar also presents market reports into CNBC Asia Pacific's business day programming.
Bakhtiar has had more than 10 years of experience in the business and financial industry. Prior to joining CNBC, he worked as a stockbroker for 13 years with CIMB Investment Bank, where he set up a team of brokers to service high-net-worth individuals with their investment portfolios on the Malaysian market.
Before that, Bakhtiar was the Managing Director for Articulate Interactive Sdn. Bhd where he was responsible for starting up the interactive television company and spearheading business developments with all the Malaysian television networks.
Bakhtiar also ran a private equity deal in 2004/05, raising AUD$20 million in seed capital for Columbus Capital Pte Ltd, a start-up warehouse funding company in the Australian residential mortgage market.
Bakhtiar has a BA in Business majoring in Accounting from Deakin University.
