Cablevision Posts Higher Second-Quarter Profit

New York-based cable television operator Cablevision Systems reported a higher quarterly profit on Wednesday as it added more digital video, high-speed Internet and voice subscribers.

Cablevision said its second-quarter net profit rose to $317.4 million, or $1.08 cents a share, compared with $14.6 million, or 5 cents, a year earlier.

Revenue rose 12% to $1.57 billion.
