Nordstrom Profit Rises on Unexpectedly Strong Same-Store Sales

Upscale department store Nordstrom reported higher quarterly net profit on Thursday as sales at stores open at least a year were higher than expected.
Net profit was $180.4 million, or 71 cents a share, for the second quarter, compared with $178.8 million, or 67 cents a share, a year earlier.
