"Transformers" must really have been a huge hit -- isn't imitation the sincerest form of flattery? Since the rights to Transformers are already sold, Hollywood is looking to the next best thing. New Regency is negotiating with the Mark Gordon Co. to bring to the big screen "Voltron: Defender of the Universe," a 1980s Japanese animated TV series.
The fanboy-bloggers have been doing a good job of documenting the development of the script...
(Hm, I always thought that Voltron was directly related to Transformers... shows how much attention I payed when I was five and playing with Barbies).
Apparently Hollywood isn't the only city thinking about He-Man -- there's a wild New-York based blog, in which contributors discuss their sightings of a guy who looks an awful lot like the character from the same era as Transformers in his jaunts around the city. Funny stuff.
