Berkshire Buys 1.4 Million More Burlington Northern Shares

Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathawayfurther increased his stake in Burlington Northern Santa Fe to about 42.05 million shares, according to U.S. regulatory filing on Friday.

Berkshire bought about 1.4 million shares of the U.S. railroad company on the open market on Aug. 15 and 16 for prices varying from $76.50 to $78.96, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The shares were bought indirectly by certain units of Berkshire Hathaway.

Buffett had disclosed Burlington Northern stock purchases during the week of Aug. 6, revealing that he had bought 1.62 million shares over three days.
