Dear Jim: I bought EMC in mid-July calculating that EMC shares would benefit from EMC's 87% ownership of VMW. However, I've now read a claim that because of SEC regulations, EMC won't be allowed to do anything with its VMware shares for two years - effectively meaning that EMC shares can not benefit from EMC's ownership of VMW stock for a long time. Jim, does this make any sense to you? --Steven

Cramer says: “No it doesn’t. I think it’s much shorter than that, like 180 days. I think that’s mistaken. As a matter of fact, there’s no two-year lockup that I know of.”

Dear Jim: Thank you for doing what you do. I am a new investor and have learned a lot from watching your show. I just bought shares of Sun Microsystems. I read that they will be changing their ticker symbol to JAVA. Will this have an influence on share prices? --Tenesia

Cramer says: “I like the stock at $5. It’s a sleeper stock. It’s just going to go up a little bit and it will not matter what the ticker is. None whatsoever.”

Hey Cramer: Here's one for the Rest of World you talk about: E-House, a recent IPO that just posted some stellar earnings numbers and is showing really strong growth. I know you like best of breed, this company is a leader in their field (real estate) in China...what do you think? --Michele

Cramer says: “I need seasoned plays in China. I’m not going to just jump in. The last thing I want to do is go with a new company in China. My favorite company in China remains Baidu and then China Telecom.”

Dear Jim: I have seen you, a few times, refer to Northgate Minerals as a speculative stock. Why? The company is growing, has amazing earnings, a P/E of around seven, and mines in safe areas of the world like Canada. What is not to like? --Steve

Cramer says: “First of all, this is a little $3 number that didn’t even have properly posted financials for a long time. It’s a Vancouver stock. It doesn’t play by the rules that I like in American stocks,” meaning Cramer can’t get as much information about the company as he’d like.
