Dave and Linda Hammond are the minds behind the talking first aid kit -- which uses audio guidance to guide virtually anyone through giving first aid. The kits come with specific packages for various injuries -- excessive bleeding, trouble breathing, etc.

Dave says the idea came to him during his 10 years of teaching young Navy Medics how to provide life support on the battlefield. Dave says he realized there needed to be an easier way to recall first aid protocol in a life-threatening situation.

The talking kits will be available beginning September 1 and according to the company, pre-order sales are over $1.5 million.
