I had a “close call” with what I thought was a million dollar idea a few weeks back. While getting dressed for work one morning I looked in the mirror and noticed that the collar of my shirt wasn’t sitting properly. I’m a certified neat freak…so the sight of this unsightly collar just annoyed me. No matter how much I messed with it I just couldn’t seem to get it right. It was sticking out like a set of wings. I said to myself, “there has to be a better way” ;) and began pondering ideas. Then I had my very own “A-ha moment” right there in my apartment. I had an idea for a product that would fix it! My product would help people all around the world! I fired up my computer and searched the Internet to see if such a product existed. Then I thought to myself, “If I had to come up with a name for my product, what would it be called and what would my website be called?” I then typed in a web address that included the name I had just created…and that’s when my jaw dropped open. Not only did the product exist…but so did the name! That meant there was someone else in the world who was annoyed by ugly collars. The only difference is they chose to do something about it and I tolerated it for so many years. Oh well, maybe next time!
