German Retail Sales Decline

German retail sales including vehicles and gas stations fell by 0.1% on the month in August in real and seasonally adjusted terms, preliminary Bundesbank data showed on Friday.
Compared with a year earlier, sales were down 3.2%, the central bank said on its Web site. In July, sales rose 0.6% on the month and fell 1.9% on the year.
The Federal Statistics Office said earlier on Friday sales excluding cars and gas stations fell 1.4% on the month in August compared with the previous month.
