CNBC Adds More than Half a Million Households in New Zealand

12 October 2007 - Singapore, 11 October 2007 CNBC, First in Business Worldwide, is expanding its presence into New Zealand. On 15 October 2007, CNBC will be distributed to about 670,000 homes in New Zealand, through the securing of a carriage deal on Sky New Zealand.

“CNBC is the pre eminent investor network, providing fast, accurate, actionable and unbiased business news, globally and regionally, to almost 400 million households globally,” said Jeremy Pink, President and Managing Director, CNBC Asia Pacific. “CNBC has expanded aggressively in the Asia Pacific this year, growing our distribution numbers by more than 25%, and we are delighted to welcome Sky New Zealand into our global footprint.”

“We are delighted that CNBC has joined the Sky Television platform in New Zealand,” said John Fellet, CEO SKY Television, New Zealand. “CNBC is a powerful, global brand and delivers unparalleled global and local business news, which our New Zealand viewers will value.”

CNBC will be commemorating this expansion by broadcasting its signature show "Squawk Box," live from Auckland and Wellington for the entire week commencing October 15,2007. Squawk on the Road – New Zealand is sponsored by the New Zealand Trade and Enterprise.

CNBC’s anchor Martin Soong, one of the best-known business journalists in Asia Pacific, will be interviewing some of the nation’s most influential business, political and opinion leaders, including :

a.      Hon. Dr. Michael Cullen – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance (NZ)

b.      Hon. Phil Goff – Minister of Trade (NZ)

c.      Don Huse – CEO, Auckland International Airport

d.      John Bongard – CEO, Fisher & Paykel
