Three Americans to Share Nobel Prize in Economics

Americans Leonid Hurwicz, Eric Maskin and Roger Myerson won the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences on Monday for their work that "laid the foundations of mechanism design theory."

The three researchers were honored for research that helps find the optimal mechanism to reach certain goals, such as social welfare or private profit.
