UK-based grocery chain Tesco is making its move into America -- and taking on Wal-Mart Stores and Whole Foods.

The British are coming to aisle three, reports CNBC's Jane Wells

Tesco, the world's third-largest retailer by sales, opened one of its signature "Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market" stores in California last week. The company plans to open another five locations in the Golden State on Nov. 8.

CNBC's on-air editor Jane Wells reported on how Tesco may alter the US grocery landscape.
