Folks, in the history of my writing career, this might be the best headline I've ever seen. And the best part is, I'm not going to get fired for it. Why? Because Dick's Sporting Goods [DKS Loading... () ] really did agree to acquire Chick's Sporting Goods for $71 million.

There really is a Mr. Chick and these guys really do have a legitimate 15 stores or so in California, but we hope this isn't the end of the wordplay between the two companies. What we're saying is that we hope Dick's doesn't fully absorb Chick's and that Dick's and Chick's can work together.
