Sudhakar Ram is responsible for driving and consolidating growth of Mastek Ltd in markets across the globe.
One of the Founder Directors of Mastek, Mr. Ram is at the helm of several strategic initiatives that will help the company achieve its vision of becoming a world class provider of Vertical Enterprise Platforms and Applications that enable business transformation.
To that end, he is leading Mastek's drive to become a serious global player in delivering IP-based solutions to verticals such as insurance and government.
Within the Mastek organization, his focus is on bringing about a marked shift in leadership, commitment, creativity and culture with a view to accelerated increase in value delivery. Mr. Ram, as a veteran of the IT industry, is also a keen observer of domestic and global IT and business trends. He uses his deep insight into the industry to frequently write articles and columns for leading newspapers.
Mr. Ram is a silver medalist from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta (IIM-C ranks among the Top 5 management institutes in India). Before joining Mastek, he was the CIO of Rediffusion Dentsu Young & Rubicam.

Sudhakar Ram led solutions thinking from Mastek's inception, and was closely involved in creating the first software products out of India (accounting, stock broking). He was instrumental in creating perhaps the first ERP in the world - MAMIS.
Ram was also instrumental in creating the Elixir (insurance framework) IP that is driving the insurance vertical at Mastek. He led the quality initiative at Mastek with ISO and CMM, besides the PCMM. In fact, Mastek was the first IT company in the world to get PCMM3 certification. He was also closely involved in designing the HR processes of Mastek and building a people-centric culture.
Ram led the repositioning of Mastek, focusing on a few chosen verticals like insurance and government. The focus has paid dividends, with more than 70% of the company's business coming from these domains.
Sudhakar Ram has provided strategic vision and direction to the Mastek Foundation, an initiative to encourage Mastekeers and others to give to various social causes, through monetary contributions and volunteering with NGOs. He has also encouraged Mastekeers to become involved in various community initiatives.
Ram also predicted the coming of the Third Wave in the Indian IT sector - with a focus on IP, domains and solutions -- way ahead of its time and rightly positioned Mastek to be ready to lead this wave.
