Dr. Anusorn Sangnimnuan, the President of the Bangchak Petroleum Plc., received Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Monash University, Australia. He started
working as engineerat the ESSO Standard Thailand Ltd. Then he has joined the Bangchak Petroleum Public Company Limited since 1985 initially as senior engineer. Dr. Anusorn has been continually
promoted and appointed as Senior Executive Vice President in 2000. In January 2005, he has been appointed as the President of the Bangchak Petroleum Public Company Limited, one of Thailand's major petroleum companies.
Dr. Anusorn has experienced more than 20 years in petroleum business. He used to be the project manager of "The Refinery Modification Project" and also took the responsibility of the petroleum refinery business. Moreover, he was consigned to take care of petroleum retailing business. He has achieved in business restructuring which turned the company to be stable, competitive with other companies and sustainably developed after the company had continually lost for several years caused from financial crisis in Asia, known as "Tom Yam Kung Crisis"
His expertise in petroleum business and an environmental & social responsibility attitude lead the company in the direction of "To sustainably business development in parallel with the environment and society" which being recognized in the public. He has fully encouraged the corporate policies to support rural community economy and society such as to operate "Agricultural Cooperative Petrol Stations". This business model has been successful in commercial aspect and can increase the living quality and income for more than 4 million Thai agriculturists. Besides, the company has also brought community products as giveaway in its petrol stations in order to promote those products being in flavor among Thai people.
Furthermore, Dr. Anusorn fully drives onward renewable energy both ethanol and bio-diesel being widely achieved in Thailand's energy market including supporting Thai youths to learn about renewable energy. Therefore, Today the Bangchak Petroleum is widely known as "Thailand's Leader of Renewable Energy". Besides, he has also initiated the campaign to encourage Thai people to collect used cooking oil for bio-diesel production to prevent reusing caused harmful to health and pollution due to disposing into the public waterway. This campaign enables people to sell their used cooking oil at 20 Bangchak petrol stations and most of the markets in Bangkok. Besides, the company buys used cooking oil as feedstock from several factories for the bio-diesel plant located in the refinery. These renewable energy promotions not only reduce environmental impacts but also strengthen Thailand energy self-reliance including improve living quality of agriculturists.
His thought is inspired by His Majesty the King Phumipol Adulyadej's philosophy of Sufficiency Economy, which incur much interest of the western economic philosophers nowadays.
Dr. Anusorn is often invited to be a special speaker from a lot of institutes. In addition, he appreciates to share his views and ideas on energy through his writing in Thailand's leading business newspaper and some magazines.

Other Activities |
Dr. Anusorn has been the member of National Legislative Assembly and has also occupied as Secretary of the Assembly's committee on Energy. He has an important role to drive and enact the substantial energy laws such as The Energy Industry Act and The Capital of State Enterprise Act. Moreover, in this year he is appointed to be a member of Thai Listed Companies Association's Board of Committee and he is also the Head Director of Corporate Governance, Corporate Social Responsibility and Risk Management Working Group which features in elevating management standard of all Thai listed companies.
