Nack-Hoi Kim has served as President and CEO of Cheil Communications Inc. since January 2007. For over 30 years, he has been recognized as a leader in Korea's advertising industry, developing and executing customized strategies and creative advertising campaigns for numerous clients across a wide variety of industries. Since beginning his career at Cheil in 1976, Mr. Kim has been responsible for advertising campaigns for many of Korea's most prominent companies, including Samsung Electronics, Korea Telecom, mobile phone service provider KTF, Dongsuh Foods, and food service company CJ, as well as multinationals such as Pizza Hut and Baskin Robbins. He has won national and international recognition for his work, including such prestigious awards as the Clio and the New York Festival's International Advertising Award, as well as two Korea Advertising Awards. Before becoming President and CEO, Mr. Kim was the Executive Vice President of Client Services.
During his long career, Mr. Kim has led Samsung's sports marketing activities, spearheading its sponsorship of the Olympic Games, a relationship that dramatically strengthened the company's global brand.
Mr. Kim has also held a number of other important posts in the advertising industry. He has served as an expert advisor to the Ministry of Government Affairs and Home Affairs and the Korea-Japan 2002 FIFA World Cup Organizing Committee. Mr. Kim was also an adjunct professor at Hongik University's Graduate School of Advertising and Public Relations from 2000 through 2001. Mr. Kim wrote and published "Japan: Advertising Kingdom" in 1992, and has co-translated several other books in the Korean language including "Brand Marketing Made Easy" and "Word of Mouth Marketing."
He currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Korea chapter of the International Advertising Association (IAA), and Vice Chairman of the Korea Marketing Club (KMC). He is a member of the Seal of State Committee at the Korean Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs.
As CEO, Mr. Kim will look to build on Cheil's strong position in the Korean advertising industry and continue its development into a leading global marketing communications agency.
2008 Marquis Who's Who has decided to register his name and stated that years of dedication and hard work can bring him a level of success that is truly noteworthy and his credential has earned him a place some of the most influential and accomplished individuals in the world.
Mr. Kim has a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication from Sogang University and a master's degree from Hanyang University's Graduate School of Journalism. He has also completed the Senior Executive Program at Yonsei University's Graduate School of Journalism and Mass Communication. He lives in Seoul with his wife, Sun-Kyung, and their son and two daughters.
