Stop Trading!: Citi Dividend Cut Imminent?

Thursday, 13 Dec 2007 | 4:17 PM ET

A dividend cut by Citigroup is already priced into the stock, Cramer said during Stop Trading! Thursday.

"A year ago we could have fixed Citi without ever having cut the dividend," Cramer said, "but they kept buying and buying and buying. Obviously that was wrong."

Cramer said he sympathizes with new Citigroup CEO Vikram Pandit.

"Who wants to preside over a dismantling or a dividend cut?" Cramer asked. "I would never want that job."

Jim's charitable trust owns Citigroup.
