ABOUT OBSIDIAN LAUNCH
Obsidian Launch is a business growth accelerator that partners with young first time entrepreneurs. Obsidian works with entrepreneurs in deploying a differentiating strategy, implementing systemization tools and by providing hands-on experts to launch a rapidly growing and healthy business. But Obsidian provides far more than a recipe for success; the firm installs a team of dedicated experts that work hand-in-hand, day-in and day-out, with the entrepreneur to launch an industry leader.
A culmination of founder Mike Michalowicz's passion for entrepreneurship, Obsidian invests in new business startups by installing a group of experts at its cost. In return Obsidian ties its success directly to the entrepreneurs company by sharing a percentage of profits. Obsidian never charges any fees; but it does share in profits, so success is a must!
BACKGROUND
Mike Michalowicz has a driving passion for entrepreneurialism. It is his belief that anyone that has the desire, even a fleeting ‘what if’, has been touched by an inspiration that must be satisfied. Michalowicz founded Obsidian Launch with the sole purpose of giving first time entrepreneurs a partner in growing their concepts into industry leaders.
Before Obsidian, Michalowicz was founder and President of Olmec Systems, Inc., a regional computer network integrator, which he sold in 2002 through a private transaction. He subsequently co-founded and served as Managing Partner of PG Lewis & Associates, LLC, a national provider of data forensic services, which he went on to sell to a Fortune 500 company in 2006.
Michalowicz has been highlighted on entrepreneurial topics in Inc. Magazine, the New York Times and New Jersey’s Daily Record. Additionally, Michalowicz has been published internationally in magazines such as WA Business News of Australia and Sprout of the Netherlands. He is publishing his first book, which is specific to young entrepreneurs, in the summer of 2008.
A guest lecturer for entrepreneurial groups at Harvard, Boston College, Penn State, UPenn, TCNJ, Seton Hall and other colleges throughout the U.S., Michalowicz is a graduated member of YEO (Young Entrepreneur's Organization) and is an active member of GOT (Gathering of Titans, Entrepreneurial Program). He has a B.A. from Virginia Tech in Finance and a second B.A. from Virginia Tech in Management Sciences. He is an alumni brother of Delta Sigma Pi, an international business fraternity. He is married, has three children and lives in Morris County, NJ.
