Today, I posted the weirdest poll in the short history of this sports business blog.
The general gist: If you are given the choice to watch the exact same game, same announcers, same graphics, on a variety of networks, which network would you watch it on? Hint: That's what this Saturday night's Patriots-Giants game will be.
I'm not sure what the margin of error is, but as of this writing NBC is leading by what I think is a significant 7 percent over CBS.
I have a feeling this has something to do with the fact that more people watch the Nightly News than the Evening News and they find there's no reason to switch channels.
It could also have something to do with the fact that people associate weekend night football with NBC (because of ther network's Sunday Night Football package) instead of CBS.
It could also have something to do with the fact that I'm a complete idiot in reading anything deeper into all of this.
If you say you are watching NBC over CBS, please drop me a note at SportsBiz@cnbc.com and try to rationalize for me why NBC makes more sense.
(By the way: NBC TV is a unit of CNBC's parent company, NBC Universal.)
