Before the iPod, there was Sima's iMix...

Does this product description sound familiar? Perhaps it slightly resembles something you have in your pocket, car or handbag right now...

"The I-MIX Model IM-120 is an innovative way to store, organize and listen to your music.  Record and store up to 4,000 songs from CDs, tapes, records, reel-to-reels or MP3s on the unit’s internal hard drive. Use the internal database of 280,000 album titles and 3.5 million songs names to identify and organize your music collection by artist, album or song. Make customized playlists to listen to all of your music, in the order you want, at the touch of a button. The I-MIX is also equipped with a SmartMediaTM card slot to transfer MP3s for music on the go, and a PC interface to download MP3s from a computer. IMIX…the future of audio storage and listening entertainment is here now."

...Years before Apple's iPod was introduced, Sima was offering the I-Mix (Pictured below). Although it couldn't fit into your pocket, the technology was there and it continued to sell into the 21st century... Sima and Ilana Diamond were definitely thinking ahead of the curve...
