Tomorrow's Playbook: MacWorld Mojo & More

#1 – Prophet Jobs To Speak

Apple (AAPL) shares popped ahead of its highly-anticipated Macworld exposition this week. How should you trade?

Analysts are expecting Apple to announce ultra-thin laptops, iTunes movie rentals and more explains Jon Najarian. But, I don’t think the news out of MacWorld this year will be as spectacular as it was in 2007 when Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone, he says.

Instead of getting long Apple, play the Apple ecosystem Najarian counsels. I like Adobe (ADBE) and EMC Corp. (EMC). Also look at Google (GOOG), because it’s possible that Goggle will run on the Apple products.

I think news out of Macworld will be negative for Netflix (NFLX) adds Jeff Macke. If you’re going to get long – this might be a smart short to hedge your bet.

*Note: The Apple Ecosystem according to Jon Najarian is Adobe (ADBE), Best Buy (BBY), Google (GOOG), Hewlett Paclkard (HPQ), IBM (IBM), Microsoft (MSFT), Motorola (MOT), Xerox (XRX), Verizon (VZ).

#2 -Inside Intel

What's the trade ahead of Intel earnings Tuesday after the bell?

I’m long Intel says Jeff Macke. I’m not sure how exciting the numbers will be, but I think they will be better than expected.

Here’s what Macke will be watching

1. EPS – analysts expecting $0.40 Tuesday and $0.35 next quarter.
2. Margins – needs to be above 55%/ Looking for guidance moving toward 60% in 2008.
3. Economic Outlook: Is CEO Otellini seeing the slowdown?

I also think Intel is a buy for a trade says Guy Adami.

Me too, adds Pete Najarian.

#3 - Rate-Cut Risers

What's the best trade if the Fed slashes rates at (or before) the Jan. 30th meeting?

Investors are upping their bets that Bernanke will get more aggressive to save the economy explains Dylan Ratigan. Fed funds futures suggest there’s a 50/50 chance the Fed will make a 75 basis-point cut on or before Jan. 30th

Fannie Mae (FNM), Freddie Mac (FRE) are probably poised for a bounce if the Fed cuts sooner rather than later, says Pete Najarian.
