Ryan and Jeremy Black of Sambazon

We manufacture organic food, beverage and supplement products with Açaí - a delicious and powerfully nutritious purple berry that grows abundantly on palm trees in the Amazon Rainforest.  Açaí has a rich berry-cocoa flavor and is an incredible source of antioxidants, healthy omega fats, fiber and protein – making it one of the healthiest fruits on the planet.
Since we formed Sambazon in 2000,  our ‘Big Idea’ has been to promote the sustainable management of the Brazilian Amazon by marketing the highest quality Açaí products to consumers worldwide.

Environmental destruction in the Amazon Rainforest is occurring at such a rate that ‘annually an area of land equivalent to the state of Rhode Island disappears’ , which impacts millions of plants, animals and people living in the Brazilian Amazon, including hundreds of indigenous communities.  Guided by the business principles of the 'triple bottom line' – which advocates social, environmental and economic success – we along with our co-founder Ed Nichols pioneered a market-driven conservation business model around marketing Açaí to the worldwide marketplace.  By essentially creating value for the Açaí trees, our idea has helped to create positive change in the Amazon Rainforest and beyond by protecting biodiversity, sustainably managing thousands of acres of forest, creating new employment opportunities and increasing the socio-economic status of thousands of small family farmers.  We also helped to create a new global market for the powerful Amazon berry – and the nutritional benefits (and great taste!) have also helped to create jobs here, and enhance the quality of life among millions of people who now are starting to enjoy Açaí on every continent.

In the United States, our products are now available at thousands of stores nationwide such as Whole Foods Market, Wild Oats, Jamba Juice, Safeway, Albertsons, Publix, HEB, Food Emporium, D’agastinos, Krogers, A&P and many other independent health and specialty food stores and juice bars across the country.

We are very proud to promote positive change through sustainable agriculture, environmental stewardship, organic food and healthy living!  Learn more about us here at: www. Sambazon.com.  Thank you for supporting our company and products!
