BC Sports COO Pat Waters told me this morning that Tyree said that one of the key reasons he went with BC was because the company had booked Tyree for a signing before the Super Bowl --before the catch and before the Giants won it all. Waters also said that, even if Tyree doesn't turn into a big star, he's confident the deal will pay off.
"People love the big moments," Waters said. "We sold about 7,000 autographed photos of Adam Vinatieri's kick in the snow bowl (2002 AFC Championship), which is a tremendous amount for a kicker."
BC expects to have Tyree signing at its stores in the next couple weeks. Waters said they're working on getting the perfect photo of the catch, though the one problem seems to be that it hasn't been given a national name yet.
