Minor League Baseball Logo Contest--Day Four Voting!
Sports Business Reporter
Before we get to the contest, we have some more business to attend to. While we're talking about minor leagues, we'd like to commend the Macon Music for their quick work in announcing "Eliot Spitzer Night" at the ballpark to take place on June 13.
As part of the promotion: (1) the team has invited former governor Spitzer to throw out the first pitch, (2) client (or fan #9) will receive a free Music prize pack, (3) any fan named Eliot, Spitzer or "Kristen" or someone from New York will get $1 off admission, (4) wire taps will be placed throughout the ballpark, (5) ATM's will be available for cash withdrawals "not to exceed $5,000 per hour, (6) Any fan who has resigned their position will be given $1 off admission, (7) The 871st fan will receive a gift certificate to the Macon Music team store.
The team does have one issue to rectify. They promised to give away a free trip to New York and one night stay in the Mayflower hotel, without realizing that the Mayflower hotel is in Washington D.C. Since I have a thing for minor league promotions, if you work for a team and think you have a good one, send it to me at .
Now on to the business. Congratulations are in order to the Albuquerque Isotopes, the Peoria Chiefs, the Carolina Mudcats, the Southern Illinois Miners and the Anderson Joes. The Chiefs staged a huge comeback after being down early, while the Mudcats proved, a day after the Durham Bulls were eliminated, that classic logos can still survive in this elimination bracket. Thanks for the more than 10,000 votes yesterday. Here are today's teams. Remember, polls close at 9 a.m. ET on Friday morning.
