When I embarked on this project, I was pretty excited about it. After the first week, I have to say, it was more than I expected. For the fifth day of voting, we had 17,922 votes when everything was tallied by 9 a.m. ET. on Saturday morning.

For those keeping score at home, the Dayton Dragons beat the Evansville Otters 54 to 46 percent, the Midland Rockhounds beat the Visalia Oaks 75 to 25 percent, the Orange County Flyers beat the Long Beach Armada 52 to 48 percent, the Jamestown Jammers beat the Syracuse Chiefs 55 to 45 percent and the Modesto Nuts beat the Lexington Legends 67 to 33 percent.

And now, the final teams of the first round and our biggest day of voting for the entire tournament. Remember, polls for the following are closed at 9 am EST Tuesday.
