Closing Glance: Media companies close mixed
NEW YORK - Major media companies finished mixed at the close on Wednesday after getting an early boost from a better-than-expected Labor Department report on consumer prices.
The report showed that consumer prices advanced 0.2 percent in April after rising 0.3 percent in March, although the data reflected the largest jump in food price in 18 years.
A look at where shares of some major media companies closed on Wednesday:
Gannett Co., down 19 cents to $30.45.
Time Warner Inc., up 16 cents to $16.27.
New York Times Co., up 18 cents to $19.51.
Walt Disney Co., up 47 cents to $34.80.
News Corp., down 13 cents to $19.68.
