Opening Glance: Media companies' shares are mixed

NEW YORK - Shares of major media companies were mixed Tuesday morning, after a Commerce Department report showed that retail sales fell in April, in line with expectations. However, the results are better than expected if car sales are excluded.

How shares of some major media companies were performing Tuesday morning:

Gannett Co., up 61 cents, or 2 percent, to $30.68.

Time Warner Inc., up 12 cents to $16.16.

New York Times Co., down 2 cents to $19.55.

Walt Disney Co., down 13 cents to $34.64.
