Opening Glance: Rails, shippers fall as oil hits new record

NEW YORK - Shares of railroads and shippers opened lower with the broader market Friday, as the oil futures surged to a new record over $126 per barrel before pulling back a bit.

Here's how major players fared early Friday:

Union Pacific Corp., down $1.19 to $146.

Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corp., down 75 cents to $103.03.

CSX Corp., down 78 cents to $63.25.

FedEx Corp., down $1.12 to $92.09.

United Parcel Service Inc., down 33 cents to $70.74.
