Fact or Fiction?

Monday, 21 Apr 2008 | 6:29 PM ET

M&A action might be fairly quiet right now but speculation about the next takeover target remains as strong as ever. So, what’s fact and what’s fiction?

New York Times

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg on Monday dismissed media reports that he could be a suitor for the New York Times Co, saying he is not interested in getting into the newspaper industry.

Bloomberg, who before becoming mayor founded Bloomberg LP, a financial news and information service, has been encouraged by people close to him to buy the New York Times Co and save the company from shareholder assaults, according to a recent report in Newsweek magazine.

I think there are two chances that the New York Times gets bought by Bloomberg and that’s slim and none, exclaims Jeff Macke.

Radio Shack

Options action in Radio Shack suggests to me that this stock could go higher, says Pete Najarian.

Under Armour

Under Armour also traded sharply higher on virtually no news, Najarian explains. It’s worth keeping an eye on too.

Lululemon

Action in this stock is similar to what we saw in UnderArmour and Crocs about 6 months ago, reveals Najarian.

Tomorrow's Trades #2
In an uncharacteristicly quiet day, rumors are again moving the market, with the Fast Money crew.

If you don’t know who the sucker is at the table, the sucker is probably you exclaims Jeff Macke. Don’t chase any of these stocks!
