CINCINNATI - Macy's Inc. on Friday said its Bloomingdale's department-store chain will discontinue its mail catalog by early 2009 and focus on its Web site.

The company said sales growth online has outpaced its catalog recently.

The restructuring will occur over the next eight months and the Cincinnati-based company expects it will make it more efficient and streamline operations.
