AMSTERDAM (Thomson Financial) - Amsterdam shares closed lower on Friday in line with leading European indices and as Wall Street opened lower amid worries over oil prices and the global economy, and as negative sentiment around financials also weighed, while TomTom led decliners.

The AEX index closed down 4.21 points, or 0.87 percent, at 480.40 after opening at 482.13 and trading in the range 478.31 to 482.45.

Government bonds traded higher, while the euro rose to 1.5448 against the dollar, from 1.5407 late yesterday.
