American Idol Ratings Flat--And DVR Says Winner is David..??

Thursday, 22 May 2008 | 2:59 PM ET

Breaking news from the Hollywood Reporter: ratings for last night's finale of "American Idol" stayed even with last year.

Nearly 32 million people tuned in. Good news, bad news for News Corp. Good news--ratings didn't slip, as they have been most of the season. Bad news--David and David were so much better than Jordin and Blake a year ago, the competition so much stiffer, why didn't the ratings outperform?

THE DVR IDOL DILEMMA
If you DVR'd the finale and didn't make sure to extend the time to stop recording, at 9:59:55 you heard Ryan Seacrest say that the winner was, "David..." And then the recording ended.

Ouch.
