Nearly 2.1 billion shares and $34 billion traded yesterday in CNBC's Million Dollar Portfolio Challenge. Additionally, the top currency trader has made over $46 thousand since currency trading opened. Adding a few thousand dollars could make the difference in the contest leaderboard. Contest Widely Helds:

  • Ford moved into the 5th spot of the most widely held stocks, pushing Evergreen Solar into 6th place, ESLR and Solarfun also moved into the contest Most Actives today.
  • The most widely held stock today remains Sirius, as contestants continue to purchase the stock on the hopes of news of the pending merger with XM, with almost 1.6B shares held and 131M traded today.
  • Financials and Industrials, continue to be tied for first as the top sectors in the Widely Helds, both comprising 25% of the top Widely Helds
