Nearly 2.1 billion shares and $34 billion traded yesterday in CNBC's Million Dollar Portfolio Challenge. Additionally, the top currency trader has made over $60 thousand since currency trading opened. Adding a few thousand dollars could make the difference in the contest leaderboard. Contest Widely Helds:

  • The most widely held stock today remains Sirius , with almost 1.64B shares held and 148M traded.

  • Countrywide Financial comes in next with 60M shares traded.

  • Financials and Industrials, continue to be tied for first as the top sectors in the Widely Helds, both comprising 25% of the top Widely Helds
