Rulon's Reuben is named after Olympic wrestler Rulon Gardner. |
That's what's happening with USA Wrestling and Foley's N.Y. Pub & Restaurant. The establishment is selling two limited edition sandwiches: "Rulon's Reuben" (with five strategically arranged onion rings to represent the games) and the "Fuel The Dream" Hamburger (with extra fries for additional fuel) with some of the proceeds going to support the families of the Olympians, who want to go to China to see their relatives compete.

PR guru Joe Favorito informs me that the "Fuel The Dream" program has raised about $50,000 so far. The sandwiches have raised $200 since Wednesday and will be on sale through July 31st at the Manhattan restaurant. If you are in Manhattan, go buy the sandwich (Foley's is across the street from the Empire State Building) to show your approval of this creative sports marketing idea.
