Jack Welch & The New 10 Commandments

Winning The Answers - by Jack and Suzy Welch
I got an email from Suzy Welch who is spending the summer writing her upcoming book, “10-10-10: Transform Your Life with Clear, Considered, Stress-Free Choices.” The book is being published by Scribner (an imprint of Simon & Schuster) and will be ready next spring.

Suzy is already a best selling author. She and her husband Jack wrote two huge best sellers “Winning” and its follow up, “Winning: The Answers.” You know Jack - he’s “THAT” Jack - the “Manager of the Century”, the one who used to sign my paychecks - ok, not him personally but someone who worked for him – THE Jack Welch, the former Chairman and CEO of GE[GE  Loading...      ()   ].

The Ten Commandments For Business Failure - by Donald R. Keough
I got a kick out of her email because I noticed this perfect couple has a thing with the number “10”. While she’s busy with “10-10-10”, Suzy says Jack has just finished and is raving about a new book called “THE TEN COMMANDMENTS FOR BUSINESS FAILURE” written by Donald R. Keough, Chairman of the Board of Allen & Company and a former top gun at Coca Cola.

Jack says the book is, “A must read for every leader.”

Other Machers praising the book include:

Bill Gates who says, "Don possesses a special combination of experience, wisdom, self- confidence, and self-awareness. His commandments for failure will teach you more about business success than a whole shelf full of books."

Warren Buffett wrote in the foreword, “Don’s best ability is to cut to the chase on an issue, to cut through the bureaucratic fog. Keep it simple is his principle and mine too.”

And Barry Diller, Chairman and CEO, IAC/InterActive Corp. wrote, “I would rather listen to Don Keough on almost any subject – his empathetic wit and wisdom are a cure all for what ails on any day. He's now written it down and if you want to learn about life and work, learn from this master.”

Keough’s “The Ten Commandments For Business Failureis published by the Penguin imprint, Portfolio.

And this programming note: Mr. Keough is scheduled to appear on CNBC’s Closing Bell with Maria Bartiromo on Monday, July 21.

As for that perfect “10” couple, check out Jack & Suzy’s official website: welchway.com. You can read their columns, hear their Podcasts and get some “Straight From The Gut” advice and inspiration - now how perfect is that!
