1. Be confident!  Put yourself in the mindset that you can achieve whatever you go after. You can’t just say “why not me?”... you have to own it.  You can never change your status or the way you’re viewed if you don’t feel confident that you deserve it.  Have a sense of entitlement and hold your head up high!

2. Don’t be intimidated by those higher than you on the business food chain.  Maybe there are plenty of people above you - Powerful people are usually surrounded by folks who tell them exactly what they want to hear.  Power and money can become very intimidating, but don’t let it intimidate you.  Powerful people respect someone who is not afraid of them and will give them an honest assessment.  Come from a place of strength and you will earn respect as a result.

3. Don’t be afraid to take risks and don’t be afraid to fail.  In the process of creating any greatness or breaking any new ground, failure will happen.  You have to be willing to take the risk and just DO!  Your dreams wont just automatically get answered... you have to DO.  Your success begins in your hands!

4. Surround yourself with people smarter than you.  Hire people who are as good as, if not better than, you are.  Don’t be afraid of the guy who has more experience than you or is more credentialed.  If you find amazing people, their great work will fall under your domain and you’ll be that much smarter as a result.

5. Physical well-being is important in business and in life. So many things in our lives are out of our control, but one thing you can control is your physical well-being.   Being healthy and fit will not only give you confidence but physical well-being that also extends to all areas of your life. It says you are disciplined and that you are a winner.
