Biggest One Day Drops in Oil

Crude [@CL.1  Loading...      ()   ] is down over $7 per bbl on today's economic news, its second biggest dollar move since 1983.  In percentage terms, this does not even crack the top 10. Here are the biggest one day drops of oil in the past 25 years.

On the news, the S&P Energy Sector is down nearly 3%.  Some of the biggest losers for the day are CONSOL Energy [CNX  Loading...      ()   ], Peabody Energy [BTU  Loading...      ()   ], Hess [HES  Loading...      ()   ], Anadarko Petroleum [APC  Loading...      ()   ] and Williams Cos[WMB  Loading...      ()   ].
