Chartology: The Bottom Or Dead Cat Bounce?

How do the charts suggest trading this tumultuous and volatile market? Find out from one of the most esteemed technical analysts on the Street.

From a technical perspective, the S&P [.SPX  Loading...      ()   ] and Dow [.DJIA  Loading...      ()   ] look terrible, says Jordan Kotick, Barclays global head of technical strategy on Fast Money. Housing looks particularly bad with gold, platinum and silver looking like areas of relative strength.

How should you trade?

The Dow and S&P appear to be setting up for a quick bounce, perhaps as much as 5%, Kotick tells the traders. When that happens, sell, but “the bear trend is not done.”

To see Jordan Kotick’s complete technical analysis please watch the video.
