In the Wangfujing area of Beijing, street stalls sell a myriad of snacks... including these scorpions on a stick, which are roasted until crispy and salted.

Sweets

The Cookie
In 1996 Kraft's brought the Oreo cookie to China.  After four years, Kraft developed variations of the original recipe tailored for the Chinese market, including a slightly less sweeter cookie.  The Oreo cookie is the top selling cookie in China.

The Oreo Wafer
Here is the Oreo Wafer, which combines the Chinese consumers' love of wafer cookies with the iconic cookie. The wafer variety has chocolate wafer layers with white cream and comes plain or covered in chocolate.

Smoked Salmon Pizza
Pizza Hut's specialty Smoked Salmon pizza (salmon, octopus, wasabi sauce) is on the menu at Pizza Huts across China, including this one in Shanghai.

KFC
Kentucky Fried Chicken is one of the most popular Western franchises in Beijing.

A Savory Snack
It's not all strange... even good ol' corn on the cob can be a savory mid-day snack.
