If you’re looking for a green trade you might want to look over your shoulder from time to time. Why? Because we found two lurking in the corner!
That’s right. Commander Planet (also known as Pete Najarian) has discovered a pair of green trades disguised as tech giants.
We’re taking Intel [INTC

] . Both companies would have you believe all they care about is processor speed but underneath this facade, 'real green' power is lurking.
These companies make solar cells as well as semiconductor chips but they have a secret weapon. Because both processes are similar they were able to go green without wrestling a big jump in costs for new machinery.
And their solar units are on fire. Intel's solar business has been doing so well they announced last month that they’re spinning it off.
Meanwhile, Applied Materials just broke ground on a new factory in Singapore that will build both solar and semiconductor equipment. And they project solar will generate at least 20% of their revenue stream in two years.
Both moves seem to make a lot of cents. Worldwide, the solar space is expected to grow by 25% every year for the foreseeable future.
And that makes Intel and Applied Materials the latest trades that help the planet and the bottom line.
