NEW YORK - Shares of some top insurers companies were up at the close of trading:
American Internation rose $.22 or 13.3 percent, to $1.87.
MBIA rose $.93 or 20.0 percent, to $5.59.
MGIC Investments rose $.34 or 16.7 percent, to $2.37.
XL Capital rose $.80 or 20.3 percent, to $4.74.
