NEW YORK - Shares of some top coal companies were mixed at the close of trading:
Arch Coal rose $.13 or .9 percent, to $13.87.
Consol Energy fell $1.12 or 4.1 percent, to $26.08.
Massey Energy fell $.32 or 2.4 percent, to $12.89.
Peabody Energy rose $1.27 or 6.1 percent, to $21.98.
