NEW YORK - Shares of some top gold companies are up at 10 a.m.:
Barrick Gold rose $1.11 or 5.3 percent, to $22.16.
Gold Fields rose $.12 or 2.0 percent, to $6.27.
Goldcorp rose $1.45 or 7.4 percent, to $21.16.
Newmont Mining rose $1.00 or 4.2 percent, to $24.65.
