NEW YORK - Shares of some top durable goods companies are up at noon:

Black & Decker rose $1.60 or 4.0 percent, to $41.67.

Snap-On rose $1.55 or 4.7 percent, to $34.58.

Stanley Works rose $.91 or 3.1 percent, to $30.16.

Whirlpool rose $.05 or .1 percent, to $36.44.
