With the East Coast still rebuilding from Super Storm Sandy's devastation, the 2013 hurricane season looms as a potential source of new destruction. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has forecast an active or extremely active season, which started June 1 and ends Nov. 30.

Many of the worst storms to strike in past years have caused billions in damage for those residing on the East Coast and states near the Gulf of Mexico.
