Fall Forecast: America's Stock

Traders looking for their next big bet are turning to a founding father for inspiration. That’s right this could be the season of the Benjamin.

As you know the Fed issued steep rates cuts earlier in the year that sent the greenback plunging versus other currencies. Now, however, it appears Doctor Franklin is gaining back some ground.

Fast Money’s Guy Adami has been telling you for a while he thinks the greenback is going higher in the second half. And he’s not alone. "The outlook for the U.S. dollar clearly remains to strengthen against the euro," said Dresdner Kleinwort consultant Peter Fertig. "We expect the European Central Bank will cut rates in the first quarter of next year."

Should you be a dollar bull for the dollar bill?

"I also think you’re going to see a lot more strength in the dollar going into the fall,” says strategic investor Dennis Gartman on Fast Money.

“Europe seems to be in serious economic circumstances. I don’t see any chance of the ECB raising rates and after the first of the year the Fed could tighten monetary policy a tad,” Gartman adds. Both of which are bullish for the dollar.

How do you trade it?

“The best way to play it is with the ETFs. Short the euro [FXE  Loading...      ()   ] and getting long the dollar [UUP  Loading...      ()   ] is probably the way to do it,” Gartman concludes.

I think Dennis is right, adds Guy Adami. And I would not be long gold right now.

You can also short the British pound [FXB  Loading...      ()   ], reveals Karen Finerman.

Or take a look at Australia's dollar and Canada's dollar, adds Joe Terranova, but only for a trade.
