Tom Brady Out But Vegas Still Gives Patriots "Good" Odds
Sports Business Reporter
Tom Brady, last year's MVP and arguably the league's best player, is out for the year. But that doesn't mean that the folks in Vegas think the Pats season is over.
At the Wynn Las Vegas, the Patriots were the favorite to win the Super Bowl, listed at 7-to-2 to win the Super Bowl before the injury. The odds have now gone up by 2.5 times to 10-to-1.
Only three teams--the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Dallas Cowboys and the San Diego Chargers--have better odds to win the Super Bowl, said the hotel's race and sports book director John Avello. The Colts are also listed at 10-to-1.
"They still are most likely going to make the playoffs," Avello told me. "And if somehow they get Culpepper, they're not going to be bad. He knows how to get to Moss."
