Warren Buffett and his good friend Jack Welch (the former General Electric Chairman) took the field at Boston's Fenway Park Tuesday night for the ceremonial first pitch before the Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays continued their pennant fight.

They appear to be a good team. Buffett threw a "perfect strike" according to CNBC producer Tom Rotunno, who was on the scene with our Sports Business Reporter Darren Rovell.

(Darren spoke with Buffett and will be reporting on that interview and the entire event Wednesday morning on Squawk Box and in his own SportsBiz blog here on CNBC.com.)

Tom took some great behind-the-scenes photos as Buffett toured the historic ballpark and warmed up with Welch for their debut.

Here they are, along with some official Red Sox photos of the pitch itself.

For those scoring at home. Buffett was wearing a very, very low number on the back of his Sox jersey.
