"There are a lot of things that can scare the consumer right now," concedes Wordell. "But when you look at the total landscape, inflation is in check, has peaked... Interest rates are low, gas commodities prices have dropped."
Wordell likes Darden Restaurants.
He praises Darden, the owner of the Olive Garden and Red Lobster restaurant chains, for its "great 3 percent dividend yield," noting that the middle-of-the-road Americanized Italian eatery chain has gone "10 years since its last negative sales comp."
